Children's Yoga

Story, Stretch & Sound - Pre Kinder Age 18 months to 3 years

  • Katrina Harris (Yogi Kat) offers a gentle 30 minute children’s yoga program as a Children’s Yoga Teacher and owner of Salt & Wood Wellness Studio

  • Through playful stories, songs, and simple guided activities, Kat helps young children build early body awareness, emotional awareness, and listening skills. Each session is soothing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate—supporting connection, curiosity, and calm.

  • This program includes:

    • Simple storytelling with yoga-themed picture books

    • Soft, playful breathing exercises (like bubble breathing and bumble bee breath)

    • Listening to gentle sound bowls and sensory instruments

    • Following very simple cues to copy shapes and movements inspired by animals

    • Music, rhythm, and dance to yoga inspired yoga songs

      ​A warm and imaginative introduction to mindfulness and movement—perfect for little learners taking their first steps into yoga.

Story, Stretch & Sound at Your Kinder & Day Care (3 year old and 4 year old kinder) 

  • Katrina Harris (Yogi Kat) offers a gentle 30 or 40 minute children’s yoga program as a Children’s Yoga Teacher and owner of Salt & Wood Wellness Studio

  • In this program, children from the age of around 2 to 5 will explore discreet elements of Mindfulness and 'Yoga' in a safe, supportive, and neurodivergent-aware environment.

  • Kat uses age appropriate concepts to help children build breath and body awareness, whilst adapting their listening skills, imagination and story telling.

  • This program includes:

    • Story telling (reading yoga related books to the group)

    • Breathing exercises such as bubble breathing, bumble bee etc

    • Listening to sound bowls or other instruments

    • Following cues to build an asana (yoga flow) with fun animal shapes

    • Listening to guided meditations and sounds

    • Music and dance

Children's Yoga Classes at Your School 

  • Available for all year levels from prep to grade 6 in your school or community centre.

  • In this program, children will move their bodies, practice calming breathing techniques, and take moments for relaxation. From lion’s breath to tree pose, they will explore movement through animal-inspired shapes and guided flows in a fun, safe, supportive, and neurodivergent-aware environment.

  • This secular and inclusive program uses creative and engaging concepts to help children build breath and body awareness, while providing mindfulness tools they can use in everyday life.

  • Program benefits include:

    • Improving focus and emotional regulation

    • Encouraging healthy movement habits

    • Building confidence and self-expression

    • Providing a joyful space for connection
